Miroslava (Mira) Bezakova of Cardston, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, September18, 2007, at the age of 92.

Mira was born in Pisek, Czech Republic, on November 14, 1914. She often shared fond memories of growing up there with her two brothers and sister. In 1968, Mira left her home country and many loved ones seeking religious freedom. She settled in Calgary and later relocated to Cardston in 1980.

Mira was musically gifted and loved to sing. She also became a talented pianist and piano teacher after five years of conservatory training. She learned to play the organ and loved to play it in the temple. She was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and devout member of the LDS church. Her laughter, love, and kind words will be missed by all of her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her eternal companion, Mikulas; her parents, Josef and Marie Vesely; her brothers, Otto and Josef; her sister, Vera; and two daughters, Vera (Jerry) Klvacek and Eva (Josef) Baksayova. She is survived by her daughter, Miroslava (Dieter) Menssen of Germany, her 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. .

The funeral service will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston on Saturday, September 22th, 2007 at 3:00p.m. with Bishop Jim Redford Officiating. Friends may meet the family at the church form 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the Service. Internment in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood Alberta.

M. DeVere Gibb, of Cardston and beloved husband of the late Winona Wight Gibb, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the age of 87 yrs.

The Funeral Service will be held in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Lorin H. Low Officiating. Friends may meet the family at the Cardston Seniors’ Center on Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 form 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Interment in the Cardston Cemetery.

FREDA QUINTON passed away in Calgary, Alberta on September 16th, 2007 at the age of 90 years.
