Candidate Broyce Jacobs of the Progressive Conservitives won the election for MLA Cardston - Taber - Warner constituency in the 2008 Alberta Election . Mr. Jacobs won a close race with Paul Hinman of the Wildrose Alliance Party, Jacobs receiving 46.0% with 4367 and Hinman following with 45.5% and 4328 votes.

A Villa resident would like to thank the Cardston Fire Department for their speedy response to a fire on Friday February 29 at around 11:00 p.m. A fire in the furnace room filled the building with smoke causing residents to be evacuated to the Chinook lodge for a couple of hours. The fire crew did an excellent job assisting the Villa, and were able to clean most of the smoke damage and smell. They were very helpful and kind.
